Steve Starnes is working part-time at the University of Hawaii as well as the owner of a small East Hawaii nursery specializing in rare plants; www.hawaiiantropicalplants.com. His collection currently contains about 500 species with many rare and uncommon tropical plants.

Work at UHH includes  taro leaf blight, DNA sequencing and analysis, plant tissue culture, and assisting in the creation of several transgenic lettuce lines resistant to tomato spotted wilt virus.

Before joining Clark Realty, Steve served as an executive assistant to Bob Williams, DR, formerly the owner and President of Prudential Orchid Isle Properties and now a Vice President of Clark Realty. In addition to the experience gained in his administrative role, Steven has also performed numerous BPOs (Broker’s Price Opinion) for various lenders and property valuation companies.

Steve’s education includes a BS in Biochemistry, real estate licensing and continuing education courses, 75 hours in appraisal courses and 45 hours in computer science and programming
